Allied acquired Brown Harris Stevens in partnership with Kent Swig, David Burris, William and Arthur Zeckendorf in 1995. This 128-year old firm is the oldest and most prestigious residential real estate brokerage and management firm in New York. The partnership has recently embarked on an aggressive growth strategy, which over the last two years has included the acquisition of Feathered Nest, Manhattan's premier rental agency, the opening of numerous branch offices on the Westside and Downtown Manhattan, Palm Beach, Florida and most recently the acquisition of Halstead Property Company. BHS is now the largest residential brokerage firm in Manhattan, with over 1,000 sales agents and annual sales volume of approximately $5 billion.

In addition to sales, BHS also manages cooperative and condominium buildings, including many of Manhattan's most distinguished addresses, including 720, 730 and 740 Park Avenue, The Dakota on Central Park West, 960 Fifth Avenue, No. One Sutton Place South and 30 Sutton Place, comprising approximately 18 million square feet.

Appraisal, Insurance and Mortgage Brokerage departments are also highly successful divisions, making BHS one of New York's largest full-service real estate companies.

Allied and its associates have made substantial capital investments in BHS to provide enhanced services including state-of-the-art computerized accounting and purchasing systems, and supplemental training in advanced management techniques to building managers and account executives.
